This makes my crappy day fade away. I’ll be glad to put this day to rest.

BUT I want to be a runner.  I have very limited time in my schedule to exercise, so I need to burn the most calories as I can in the time that I have.  Running is the solution for me and spinning too.  Yet, every time I train for a race I hurt some part of my body.  Today I went to the Chiropractor for a searing pain in my heel.  I knew it was plantar fasciitis and I knew it was going to sideline my half marathon training.  So, I have been avoiding this trip for about a week, running on it and letting it get worse.

In the mostly gentle yet direct way, my chiropractor told me you’re body is not built for running.  Ouch.  My first response, what if I lost 10 lbs?  Well, yeah, less weight is less impact, but my body frame won’t change and its going to be an up hill battle.  Ouch again.

My next question was, so I guess I’m not going to be able to run anymore.  He said while he would prefer that I don’t run, I can still run.  However, unless I take the necessary precautions to stretch (and not the 2 minutes of stretching I was doing, but really really stretch), then I’ll just keep getting hurt.

So, I’m in a funk right now.  I was excited to run my 6th half-marathon because I actually have been losing some weight and feeling better because of eating a vegan diet and I just knew this was going to be my year to break 2 hours.  Ugh. I’m rambling and I apologize, but venting helps a bit.  Thank you for letting me vent!
